Bancroft NeuroHealth offers an extensive range of services for
people with brain injuries. Programs take a comprehensive and integrated
approach, and focus on pragmatic, cognitive, physical, and psychosocial
concerns, while managing the unique medical needs of each individual.
Many therapies take place in functional, real-life settings in
the home, community, workplace and school, to further enhance the
individual’s independent-living skills.
Bancroft NeuroHealth’s treatment philosophy blends two
complementary approaches – the neurobehavioral and person-centered
models – both professional standards of practice within
the medical and rehabilitation fields.
The neurobehavioral model has its roots in the field of Applied
Behavior Analysis and neuropsychology. It is based on highly
effective, proven methods of teaching skills and adaptive behavior.
Led by several nationally recognized practitioners, Bancroft
has an outstanding record of success in treating even the most
difficult problems resulting from brain injury. The focus is
on developing functional skills that address individuals’ needs
where they live, work and play.
The person-centered model is based on the philosophy that
each person benefits most when viewed in his or her entirety;
that an individual’s disability is just one aspect of
who he or she is as a person; and that people are best served
when they have input into their goals and programs. This approach
also centers on the belief that good interpersonal relationships
are vital to one’s quality of life.
