Special Education/Vocational Programs at Bancroft
Bancroft Preschool
This full-day, year-round program for children with autism and related disorders
provides intensive learning therapies for three hours each day, as well
as the social benefits of a school environment. Related therapies are also
provided on site by the Preschool’s speech, physical and occupational
therapists. An in-house communication specialist trains students to use a
picture-based communications system, a highly regarded method
that enables non-verbal children to communicate and encourages language
development.
Elementary Autism Program
The elementary autism program prepares children to transition
into integrated classrooms in their home school districts, or to other Bancroft
education programs. This full-day, year-round classroom program serves children
with autism and related disorders, providing intensive individualized instruction for two
to three hours each day, as well as the social benefits of a school environment
with community outings and field trips to help students practice their
skills in public settings. Related therapies are also provided on site by
speech, physical and occupational therapists.
The Bancroft School

The Bancroft School at Voorhees Pediatric Facility
The Bancroft School at Voorhees Pediatric Facility is a unique collaboration
between two leading institutions, offering educational opportunities for
children who are medically complex and technology dependent. The Bancroft
School at Voorhees Pediatric Facility is New Jersey's first state-approved
private school located within a pediatric sub-acute, long-term care facility.
