4.8.10 | Free Developmental Disability Workshop: Functional Communications Systems

Bancroft will be holding its next workshop in its free Developmental Disabilities (DD) Workshop Series on Wednesday, April 21, 2010 from 6:30PM-8:30PM.

This workshop is designed for families and professionals and anyone else who is interested in learning about the development of systems that can enhance language and communication for people with developmental disabilities.

Systems that can improve verbal language and allow for effective communication skills for those who have trouble verbally communicating, will be discussed. In addition, the presenter will explore and demonstrate methods such as icon based systems, symbolic picture systems and icon exchange systems as well as techniques to design, implement, shape and positively reinforce the use of communication systems.

The workshop will be held in the Farrington Building, located on Bancroft’s Campus in Haddonfield, New Jersey. For further information or to register, please contact Pat Reid at (856) 524-7453 or email preid@bnh.org

These workshops are available to the public at no charge. Support generously provided by the TD Charitable Foundation.
