The Judith B. Flicker Residences are designed to provide a superior quality of life for older adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities and acquired brain injuries in an attractive, safe and welcoming environment.
The overall wellness of those served is a constant focus of the program. Nurse case managers closely monitor the health needs of each individual. Recreation and socialization are a priority both in the homes and in the day program. Community and site based recreational activities are abundant and richly varied. The program has frequent visitors, including families, friends, artists and performers. While acquisition of new skills is encouraged, annual goals for persons served are more typically focused on maximizing mobility, emotional stability, and overall quality of day to day life.
Direct care staff receive additional training to best serve the needs of the aging population. Our nurse case managers have a smaller case load and work very closely with the staff. Occupational and Physical therapies are offered on site, and these professionals also work closely with our direct care staff.
The Flicker Residences is comprised of six group homes surrounding a central courtyard, with an indoor walkway, therapy room, indoor swimming pool, as well as a separate wing for day programming.
